Ki Wa's videos are developed out of an interdisciplinary performance practice that runs the gamut from fashion, to poetry, to activities such as the Festival of the Non-Existant Bands. This time he indulges nostalgia by dredging up fond memories of Anne Veski, a 1980s Estonian pop star whose Western equivalent would have been any snyth-pop diva from the period. Ki Wa bestows glamour upon the shamelessly silly, mundane acts of a friend who plays Veski, recalling something of the playful relationship between John Waters and his leading lady Divine. The nonsensical subtitles are a Ki Wa trademark (see Displacement in Reverse.
